Sonoma County artist, Laura Roney, unveils her latest figurative series, Dance!. These new oil paintings explore dance in its various forms. These works translate the joy humans feel in expressing themselves through movement and music. Part of human culture worldwide, dance encompasses forms that can be very structured, as in ballet, or free flowing as in a concert mosh pit. Good music can compel us to get up and move – it’s hard to be unhappy, even in these stressful times, while swaying with the rhythm. “I truly enjoy capturing the human form in action and I want these paintings to remind us of the joy of moving through dance, “commented Roney.
